A New Laboratory is Developed for the Study of Magnetic and Electromagnetic Fields
Graduates of Yerevan Polytechnic University have developed a laboratory for the study of magnetic and electromagnetic fields, the methods of their generation, and the phenomena observed as a result of interaction with these fields. The main purpose of the laboratory is to spark an interest to applied sciences from an early age.
A set of laboratory experiments included in the laboratory has been developed which help the students to study the fundamental aspects of magnetism and electromagnetic phenomena, such as the different methods used for generation of magnetic fields, understanding the nature of the Ampère force, Foucault currents, Faraday’s Electromagnetic Induction Law, etc.
One of the advantages of the system is the open platform. The software can be used for real-time monitoring and analysis of the obtained experimental results, which helps the students in easy assimilation of studied materials.
Along with a clear set of theoretical materials, the laboratory lets the students to carry out a wide range of practical experiments on magnetism and electromagnetism. The test bench is not limited to the already developed experiments, the instructor along with the students can also come up with many other experiments at their own discretion.
This test bench can be used in schools and colleges, as well as by the first-year students of technical universities in the frames of the Classical Physics course.
