Graduates from the Yerevan Polytechnic University have developed a new data logger with the satellite transmitter. This data logger is a control device with SDR transmitter with low power consumption (50 mAh). The data logger receives data from various types of sensors, and transmits them to the data acquisition center using the SDR transmitter for the further analysis. It performs a high-speed processing and data transfer for systems operating with a large number of analog and digital sensors.

The continuous operation of the data logger is ensured by RTC clock generator with calibration registers, the proposed software for FPGA, as well as by using a new RTC calibration formula with the GPS signal for time synchronization.

The advantages of the system are: operation speed; user-friendly software interface for configuration and adjustment of data transmission parameters such as frequency, signal power, transmission time and low power consumption.

This data logger can be used in spheres where it is necessary to ensure the storage of data in real time and its wireless transmission. For example, using the data logger in agriculture makes it possible to make a statistical analysis of the detailed climatic situation in the field, determine the control of humidity and soil temperature, wind speed and direction. Preliminary processing of the measured data at certain time intervals, their coding, modulation and transmission of the results to the satellites are also performed.
