Graduates of Yerevan Polytechnic University have developed a test complex, which is designed to verify the in-vehicle infotainment system (Infotainment, IVI). The complex allows the driver to fully concentrate on the road and at the same time use the information and entertainment capabilities of the vehicle.

The infotainment test system not only combines various entertainment, information and communication facilities (GPS navigation system, TV system, DVD, music system) but also is capable of warning about the accident.

During the manufacturing process, car manufacturers either create an infotainment system themselves or purchase it and then install it on a vehicle. The developed test complex makes it possible to conduct such test in both cases quite flexibly and cheap, which is the distinctive capability of the complex.

The main advantage of the test complex is its ability, in accordance with certain requirements, to test the nodes and subsystems of the intravehicular information systems (IIS) both separately and as part of the electronic control unit (ECU). The electronic control unit processes input signals (including from information input devices) and generates control actions on actuators (including from information output devices). The control unit combines, as a rule, several modules: system, navigation, telephone, Bluetooth, and for the information output a display can be additionally used with the instrument cluster.

The main criteria of the infotainment system test complex are reliability and ease of use on modern vehicles. The developed system has an intuitive user interface and the versatility of the modular platform makes it possible to use the complex for IVI, regardless of the manufacturers and the type of vehicle.

The complex includes using communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay and analog-digital lines for IVI tests at the system level.

The test complex is designed for car manufacturing companies.
